Other work areas, such as stockrooms that typically have narrow pathways between shelves, would be required to design only one accessible circulation path into the stockroom. It would not be necessary to make each circulation path in the room accessible. In alterations it may be technically infeasible to provide accessible common use circulation paths in some employee work areas. In addition, the 2010 Standards include exceptions for common use circulation paths in employee work areas where it may be difficult to comply with the technical requirements for accessible routes due to the size or function of the areas. The Department believes that these exceptions will provide the flexibility necessary to ensure that this requirement does not interfere with legitimate business operations. The FHAct requirements, where also applicable, should not be considered a substitute for the 2010 Standards. 
Knee and Toe Clearance 
For incremental volume control, provide at least one intermediate step of 12 dB of gain minimum.These commenters recommended retaining requirements that allow the use of portable visible alarms.The Standards do not contain any technical requirement for handrails provided along walkways that are not ramps.The 2010 Standards, which set requirements for fixed elements and spaces, require that all new pool facilities built by State and local governments, public accommodations, and commercial facilities must be accessible to and usable by persons with disabilities. 
Subject to other provisions of this guidance, all existing pools of public entities and public accommodations must comply with the 2010 Standards to the extent required under title II program accessibility or title III readily achievable barrier removal requirements. When considering legal requirements for accessible pool design, you’ll face ADA Compliance Challenges. However, there’re inclusive design benefits like broadening your customer base.

A commenter argued that an accessible route should not be required where natural terrain makes it infeasible to create an accessible route. A commenter asserted that there is nothing inherent in clerks´ stations, jury boxes, and witness stands that require them to be raised.
